Dallas Cup: OBGC Rangers U-16s win title, AC Bethesda, Barca FC, Champions League Select all pick up wins in prestigious event:

Pre-season tournament play resulted in strong showing for the newly build Barca Boys U9s.  In closes matches with signs of quality play, the Barca ’02 boys are on their way to spring season play in NCSL.  Good luck Lads!  Well done in the Mclean tournament.

In their first competitve tournament, the new Barca 98 boys were finalist in the PWSI Icebreaker tournament.  With an opening win against NVSC Junior Royals 98Gold, then followed with a tough match ending in tie with VYSA Elite White; the team went on to win their third match against Loudoun 98B Silver.  The finals was against FASA 98 Hotspurs Premier.  Great job boys!  Congrats!

The 2012 Arlington Invitational soccer tournament Premier flight hosted a showdown between the #1  & #2 Ranked Boys U14 teams from Virginia.  The Arlington Impact Red  2011 VYSA State Cup Champions met head to head with the Barca ’97 2011 VYSA Semi-Finalist.  The two teams previously competed in Spring 2011 in a 1-1 Tie.  Barca ’97 plays in NCSL and Arlington Impact Red plays in the VCCL league.

Maryland Soccerplex -  The scene for a day of competitive indoor soccer games.  The Barca '98 U13 team was on the offensive and playing exciting soccer.  Winning all their games in the event, the team showed consistent organized play that gave their opponents a difficult time.  Coach Victor Aquino kept his squad refreshed on the field with timely subs and preplanned tactical runs that led to quality goals.  Barca '98 outplayed their opponents at ever sector of the field.  Congratulations boys!

The Dallas Cup is no stranger to Coach Robertson of Barca FC.  Having atttended the tournament 6 times since 2002, coach Roby’s teams have gone to the quarter-finals 3 times.  Last year’s opening match against Nomads U13s was an exciting and competitive game.  While the Barca ’97 boys took the early 2 - 0 lead in the game, Nomads were able to come back the win 3 - 2.  Nomads went on to win the prestigious event at the U13 age bracket.  Barca returns to the event in 2012.
